TUPE

LAUSD’s Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE) Tier 2 Program is a grant funded by the California Department of Education (CDE).  The purpose of the TUPE Program is to reduce the use of tobacco and vaping products among middle and high school youth, and features the following components:

·       Tobacco/vaping prevention curriculum implemented in health classes

·       Student-led anti-tobacco/anti-vaping awareness campaigns

·       Peer-to-Peer Educator classroom presentations

·       Brief Intervention for students most likely to start using tobacco/vaping products

·       Referrals to cessation services, in the community, for students currently using tobacco/vaping products

·       Anti-tobacco/Anti-vaping presentations for parents, students and school staff
